Why Study Science is an activitty that tackles the age-old student question, "Why do we have to learn this?" by delving into the importance of studying science. This dynamic activity encourages middle school students to articulate their thoughts, engage in meaningful writing, and justify their choices, fostering critical thinking. It also helps them make unique, personal connections to the subject, transforming abstract concepts into relatable experiences. Perfectly aligning with our value of promoting curiosity and understanding, this exercise was effectively used in a middle school class to enhance learning.
 
What you will receive: A powerpoint of all the reasons. I printed them off and made this an activity where students walked around with their groups. It also includes the student sheet in a pdf or microsoft word format. The second page I used as an extension activity.
